Hi, I'm Die and I'm from Chester. I'm an aspiring writer (and occasional artist) who's just started to get a few short stories published. Earlyworks has given me the confidence to keep plugging away at it to try and get some more out there. My genres of choice are horror and magic realism. My main goal is to have the time to dedicate to writing despite full time job and travel commitments!

As far as I know, magic realism is what book reviewers in Sunday supplements read, 'cos they're all too literary and highbrow to admit that it's fantasy. Alternatively, it's fantasy lite, watered down for the delicate sensibilities of book reviewers in Sunday supplements, but far be it from Die to stoop to such things!

Oops, should have read the rest of the forum before I opened my big mouth!

Think of it as realism with fantasy traps here and there for unsuspecting readers to fall in or - at its most skilful - fantasy getting on with what fantasy does right the way through a totally credible real-world story without annoying anyone. That's my favourite kind Guy Ware's 'Sourdough' is one of my favourites in the Earlyworks Press stable.
